Lia is a licensed and nationally board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who provides mental health assessment, diagnosis, and medication management for adolescents in IOP programming at Bright Path. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from American University.

With over 14 years of healthcare experience, Lia’s path to adolescent mental health has been shaped by her foundation in psychology and extensive pediatric nursing background. Before becoming a Nurse Practitioner, she spent nearly a decade at UNC Children’s Hospital caring for children and teens with complex medical and behavioral needs, serving as both a clinical leader and Behavioral Health Resource Nurse. Her experience also includes primary care and women’s health, including family planning and prenatal care, which informs her whole-person approach to treatment.

Lia believes teens deserve care that feels respectful, collaborative, and honest. She partners closely with families while creating space for adolescents to feel heard and empowered in their own care. Her approach blends evidence-based medication management with warmth, education, and thoughtful conversation. She is passionate about helping teens better understand what they’re experiencing and feel more steady and supported in daily life.

Outside of work, Lia enjoys spending time with family, being outdoors whenever possible, planning the next place to explore, and working through an ongoing list of home projects and design ideas.
